“Nigeria’s aviation industry must adopt bold reforms, innovative financing models, and strategic partnerships to remain competitive in a turbulent economic climate”.
That was the resounding message at the 29th Annual Conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC), held on August 7, 2025, at the Providence Hotel, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
This year’s conference, themed “Aviation Financing in Nigeria: Risks, Opportunities and Prospects,” brought together government officials, regulators, airline CEOs, and aviation financiers to explore solutions to the sector’s long-standing funding and infrastructure challenges.
The event was highlighted with the presentation of the Champions of Aviation Development Award to the DGCA, Capt. Chris Najomo, in recognition of effective aviation oversight.
Dignitaries present at the annual event include Mr. Micheal Achimugu, Director, Public Relations and Consumer Protection at NCAA; Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, MD, FAAN, who was represented by Mr. Ayodele Olatiregun, Director of Finance and Account; Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, President of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Nigeria.
