Today, a four-member team of technical experts from the West and Central African Region of the International Civil Aviation Organization (WACAF - ICAO) has arrived Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) headquarters in Abuja.
The ICAO Regional Office Safety Team (ROST), led by Rene Tavarez, is on a two-week Technical Assistance Mission ahead of the ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission (ICVM) scheduled for April 2026.
While receiving the ROST, the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Capt. Chris Najomo stated that the previous assistance missions have been invaluable in Nigeria’s impressive Effective Implementation (EI) scores across all Audit areas.
He, therefore, thanked the team for their expertise and support, expressing optimism that the mission will deliver a clear pathway, prioritize recommendations, and provide sound guidance for a successful outing at the forthcoming ICVM.
