GM, CONSUMER PROTECTION BOWS OUT IN STYLE image

The General Manager, Consumer Protection Department of the Directorate of Air Transport Regulation, Mrs Megwa Ifeyinwa Victoria has bowed out in grand style.

She retired from public service after serving meritoriously for 34 years.

The event, which was held at the authority's Lagos office, was attended by many guests, well-wishers and top management staff of the organisation.

At the event, some of Mrs Megwa's friends attested to her outright display of professionalism on the job that made her an outstanding administrator to be reckoned with having carved a niche for herself in the aviation sector.

In the welcome address of the Director, Air Transport Regulations, Grp Capt. Edem Oyo-Ita (Rtd.) represented by GM, Air Transport Regulations, Mrs.  Oyerinde Modupe, described Mrs. Megwa as a leader with good quality.

She also noted her for being humble and hardworking; she however wished the retiree blessings as she took a bow from service.

In the words of Mr Adekola Johnson, General Manager, Administration, Lagos Office, referred to the retiree as an epitome of beauty and brains combined with sterling leadership qualities.

Mr Adurogboye Sam, General Manager, Public Relations Department described his former boss as a kind, jovial and caring boss who allows idea to flourish.

The chairperson of the organising committee Ms. Ikwo Uloh, Deputy General Manager, Consumer Protection, have this to say about her General Manager “She is always about staff welfare. Once you do your job effectively, you will not have any problem with her. We would miss her so much. She also appreciates things a lot. Any little help you render to her, she would always appreciate it,'' she said.

Mrs Megwa thanked the staff for their unwavering support in the course of her stay. The outgoing General Manager, who described her feeling as overwhelming, also promised to continue to render selfless service to God and humanity.

''I thank God for sparing my life till this moment. I appreciate Him for His grace to be alive today. Sincerely, I am highly overwhelmed by this ceremony. I thank every one of you that has made out time out of his or her busy schedule to honour me.”

''For me, I will keep on working. I will continue to work for the service of God and humanity. I implore you all to be good ambassador of NCAA.'' she added.

The farewell event also featured cutting of send forth cake, gifts presentation, among others.
