CAPT. NAJOMO ADVOCATES INCREASED COLLABORATION AMONG  D-8 MEMBER STATES ON SAFETY, SECURITY AND CAPACITY BUILDING image

Capt. Chris Najomo, the DGCA, attended the 13th D-8 Meeting of Directors General and the Experts Working Group in Civil Aviation held in Antalya, Turkey, on November 13th, 2024. 

This important assembly brought together representatives from the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, which consists of eight developing countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey. 

At his address, Capt. Chris called for increased collaboration among the D-8 member states in safety security and capacity building to ensure that D-8 countries meet and exceed ICAO standards.

He urged more commitment to enhancing regional cooperation and facilitating collaboration in civil aviation among member states. The meeting addressed critical issues affecting the sector, including safety standards, air transport connectivity, and the integration of technological advancements to improve operational efficiency.
