PRESS STATEMENT
My attention has been drawn to a certain fake facebook account created and operated in my name sending indiscriminate friend requests and demanding certain favours from unsuspecting public.
The said facebook account name - Musa Shuaibu Nuhu - is fake and not my facebook account. I have not opened the said facebook account and as such, is not mine.
The said scammer's modus operandi is demanding unsuspecting members of the public to send a private message to a certain WhatsApp number in order to handle an urgent assignment and/or procurement.
The general public is, by this press statement, advised against dealing with anyone on facebook or any other social platforms purported to be the Director General Civil Aviation, Nigeria.
For the avoidance of doubt, the DGCA doesn’t give assignments to people on facebook, either official or private; thus, anyone dealing with the fraudsters is acting at his or her own risk.
All official matters of the Authority are done at the Authority's corporate headquarters in Abuja and at the regional offices across the country and not on social media platforms.
On that note, the general public should be guided accordingly
