The 7th Meeting of the BAGASOO Technical Committee on Regulations (TCR-07) kicked off today, March 24th -28th March 2025, at Radisson Blu, Ikeja, bringing together key aviation regulators and stakeholders to advance the harmonization of aviation regulations across member states.
Declaring the meeting open, the Director General of NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, underscored the committee’s critical role in ensuring uniformity in regulations, guidance materials, and safety standards. He emphasized the need for a common regulatory framework that facilitates the mutual recognition of licenses, certificates, and approvals, in line with Article 33 of the Chicago Convention.
In her welcome address, BAGASOO Executive Director, Ms. Jailza Silva, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to strengthening regional aviation safety. She stressed the importance of aligning national laws, enhancing efficiency, and providing all member states, regardless of size or resources with the tools needed to meet international standards.
The five-day meeting, is expected to produce a more comprehensive harmonization strategy to ensure no country is left behind in the pursuit of safer and more efficient air transport regulations.
