The Air Traffic Management/Search and Rescue (ATM/SAR) Department in the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority is responsible for safety oversight functions with regards to the provision of Air Traffic Services in Nigeria. The Department carries out Safety Oversight functions on:
1. Air Traffic Services.
2. PANS-OPS Flight Procedure Design Services.
3. Aeronautical Search and Rescue Services.
The units under the ATM/SAR department include:
I. ATS (Air Traffic Services).
II. PANS-OPS (Procedure for Air Navigation Services – Operations).
III. SAR (Search and Rescue).
